TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. The benefit will be provided in the form of a cash payment.
  2. You have a “cooling-off” period of thirty one (31) days after you receive the policy, during which you can cancel it if you are not satisfied.
  3. The minimum entry age for principal members is between 18 and 75 years, and for extended members, it is between 0 and 84 years.
  4. There is a waiting period of 6 full months for members and extended members due to natural causes from the policy’s Commencement Date. Accidental death is immediately covered provided the first premium has been paid in full. Suicide is not covered during the first 12 months from the Insured’s Entry Date.
  5. The first premium for all new policies must be paid; failure to do so will result in the policy not taking effect.
  6. This policy does not include a waiver of premium benefit.
  7. To be eligible for benefits under this policy, claims must be reported within 6 months after the insured individual’s death.
  8. Premium Variation: The premium will remain unchanged for the first 12 months from the policy’s commencement date, unless there are valid actuarial reasons to modify it. Any changes to the premium will be communicated to the policyholder with a 31-day notice period.
  9. Instances where coverage will not apply include:
  • Intentionally self-inflicted injury, suicide or a suicide attempt (whether sane or insane) within the first 12 (twelve) months from the Entry Date;
  • The Insured’s active participation in the commission of a criminal activity that results in a Claim Event;
  • No payment will be made under this Policy if the Premiums remains unpaid after the expiry of the Grace Period or if the Insured has not complied with all the obligations and conditions of this Policy;
  • Active participation by the Insured in war, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities, warlike operations (whether war is declared or not), civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, civil commotion assuming the proportions of or amounting to an uprising.
  • Attacks on or sabotage of facilities (including but not limited to nuclear power plants, reprocessing plants, final repository sites and research reactors) and storage depots which lead to the release of radioactivity or nuclear, biological, or chemical warfare agents, irrespective of whether any of the aforesaid has been performed with the specific use of information technology. If any portion of these Exclusions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder shall remain in full force and effect.

 

  1. Your policy commences once the insurer accepts the application and risk and the first premium is paid. It will remain in effect until one of the following events occurs:

  • Failure to pay two consecutive premiums.
  • The Principal Insured dies
  • Cancellation of the policy by the Principal Insured or by the Insurer, subject to 31-day notice period.
